CELEB SCANS:
Next to Playboy, the most common source of scan content
Recent improvements in Quality and content make celeb/supermodel scan collecting
genuine alternative to Playboy sourced collections.
There was once a time when celeb scans of any appreciable quality were
practically non-existent. With the exception of an occational Outlaw graphics scan,
Celebrity and supermodel images consisted of many low quality amateur attempts that
populated fan sites.
Then along came Maelstrom's Eye. For a long time, Maelstrom had a virtual lock
on the Celeb scan scene. Maelstrom single handedly inspired the Celeb/supermodel movement
we see today in groups such as StarNet, CIA, UIA, #CELEBS-N-MODELS and others. (note IRC
group #CELEBS-N-MODES does pre-date Maelstrom)
Celeb/Supermodel scans, as we know them today, represent some of the most varied
and interesting of all present day scan offerings.
Because the number of celeb/supermodel content sources is much more numerous
than Playboy, these type of scans will vary greatly in terms of content and technical
quality. The many different magazine formats coupled with varying degrees of paper quality
present a challenge to the scanner. This is the reason that celeb collections will consist
of many differing scan sizes ranging from tiny to monser screen busters. Celeb collections
also cover outdoor paparatzzi type images that are low quality to begin with. Simply put,
Celeb/Supermodel scans can at times, be awful. On the other hand, they can also be superb
creations representing great scanning and touching skill.
Fortunately, the overall quality of these types of scans has risen dramatically
and there are now a number of excellent collections that meet or exceed the quality of
Maelstrom's Eye scans.

clean, attractive and well presented. The content choice is above average covering both
American and international sources.
