By far the most common content source. Literally THOUSANDS of high quality
collections. Virtually all are collected.
PENTHOUSE SOURCED SCANS:
Not as numerous as Playboy but collectable just the same. Quality can vary.
The SCP scan group covers Penthouse content very well.
EUROPEAN AND AUSTRALIAN MEN'S MAG CONTENT:
From magazines like Men's World, FHM, Maxim etc. Content from these
magazines will sometimes find it's way into Playboy based collections. Some great content
that is not normally seen by American audiences. Searcher and Paradise do these very well.
AMERICAN CELEBRITIES:
From many different American magazines. Both content and quality vary from
excellent to piss-poor. Official collections like Maelstrom and groups such as CIA and UIA
do them the best.
PORNSTARS:
Mostly American pornstars. Some official collections like CoolHandXXX and
RiptornXXX. Many more independent scans. Lots of redundancy, quality and content vary
greatly. Mostly hard core in nature.
ASIAN MODELS:
Lots of scans available. Bluebird collection alone has over 10,000 scans.
Quality varies though. Many recent Bluebird offerings are very good. JoScan is another
large collection of Asian models. Then there is Sung Hi Lee, the most beautiful Asian
model of all time.
EUROPEAN & AUSTRALIAN CELEBS:
Groups like UIA and CIA along with scanners like Maelstrom do these the
best. There are lots of independent scans on many fan sites. Quality and content vary.
Stick with the official collections.
PINUP ART - MODERN & CLASSIC:
From the paintings of Antonino Vargas, Gil Elvgren, Sorayama, Royo, Olivia,
Jennifer Janesko, Ken Martin, Peter Driben, Harry Ekman, Art Frahm, Earl Moran,Zoe Mozert
Edward Runci, Donald Rust and many others. Viking and Ozone do the best scans. There are
many, many more independent scans out there. Quality is normally high. The Viking Sorayama
and Ozone Olivia scans are impeccable.
PHOTOSHOOTS (SUZE RANDALL):
Usually from various pay sites, these scans have found their way into the
public domain via USENET Newsgroups. Quality is normally high, no logo or id on the scans.
Content ranges from soft to hard-core. These scans number in the tens of thousands and are
collectable. Photoshoot collecting is an up-and-coming trend in scan collecting.
"BABE SITE" NONAME IMAGES:
Images from the multitudes of "BABE SITES". Lots of redundancy.
Quality and content varies from sizzling to yawn. Many images are edits of offical
collection offerings.
FITNESS BABES (MSA):
Mostly from Michael Scott Agency shoots. These thousands of muscle babe
scans are collectable. No logo or id on scans. Quality is high. Content is soft, muscles
are hard.
AMATEUR PHOTOSHOOTS:
From the hundreds of amateur pay sites currently operating. No logo or id on
scans. Quality ranges from fair to very good. Content ranges from excellent to vomit
inducing. Soft and Hard core
BBS BRANDED SERIES:
RARE: The prototypes for all modern scan forms. From the pre-Internet days
of private BBS systems (like LACE). Thousands of scans, some with logos, some vanilla.
Some good content, many low-budget whorebags and various other skanks. Great nostalgia for
those of us that can remember the pre-Internet world.
VIDCAPS:
Video captures from movies. There are a growing number of collections from
groups like CIA and UIA. The form is still young and needs maturation to compete with the
quality of photo scans.
FANTASY ART:
From many airbrush fantasy artists. SDC, SCP and PePescan cover fantasy
scans the best. Quality is usually very high.
WALLPAPERS:
Desktop wallpaper created from composite scans. Many of these could be much
better. Quality does not usually exceed fair.
COMIC ART:
Scanned comic book covers. NightWing does the best. Rhabdo did some
excellent scans in the mid 1990s.
AUTOMOBILES:
Pics of cars. Mostly sports and exotic. I prefer the girls.
LANDSCAPES:
Pictures of outdoor landscapes. Many real nice pictures, some excellent
quality. I still prefer the skin based scans.
